How the search for ‘the best diet’ distracts us from the real issue

by Marla Bozic on May 22, 2014

Food has become a hot topic of conversation among friends these days.

“Where did you go for dinner? What did you eat? Oh, are you paleo, vegan or doing a juice only cleanse?”

Could you imagine our grandparents talking like this?

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE that we are passionate about food these days. But when scientists study the benefits of a Mediterranean diet verses an Atkin’s style diet, there is no clear answer.

Let me tell it to you straight – one diet does not work for everyone.

scalesThere are so many factors that determine weight loss, energy levels and health on a cellular level and not just how we eat but also our state of mind and our level of activity.

It’s time to stop charting how many kilos one person lost in Diet X or Diet Y.

Instead, we should put our efforts into figuring out how to individualise weight loss strategies to help people make long-term sustainable changes that result in improved health, happiness and weight loss.

Coincidentally, this is exactly what I do. If you’d like some guidance in this area, please book in for a Breakthrough session here.
